Sometimes things go wrong. At that point you just have to hope that the steps taken beforehand will show themselves to have worked.
My faithful G-Technology GSpeed ES Pro Raid system decided to play up. One of my two Pro boxes decided it didn't want to work anymore and take 24TB of video data with it. That's about a year's worth of work. However because I invested in a decent system, HGST Enterprise drives are the best but hellishly expensive, I was able to restore everything without losing one second of work. I had to find and buy a new G-Tech enclosure, but once that arrived everything just slotted into place as before and there it all was, a year's work saved. It pays to invest a little extra in a decent back up system.
