Just got a nasty shock to find that the superb cine film cleaning solution FilmGuard has gone up from £38 a bottle to £71 a bottle. Ouch. I am not going to increase my prices and I will absorb this massive increase in costs. I won't use anything cheaper as everything else I have used I have found to be inferior in both cleaning and lubricating your films. I switched to FilmGuard in late 2016 and after 2 years of using the best there is it is hard to contemplate going back to something that just isn't quite as good. Every film that gets near my "Memory HD" cine film system is thoroughly cleaned before it is archived. Leaving dirt on screen, when I know it can be removed, is like finger nails on a blackboard to me. So there we are things just cost more....but the best is always worth getting.
As my main headline states......
There are two ways to save your family archives.. cheaply or properly.. and cheaply always costs more in the end
